First, a big congratulations to Hunter Ross, a Senior at Collegiate who was recently a Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award winner. Hunter will be attending NCSU this fall on a full golf scholarship. You can view a video clip about Hunter and this award here.
Also, next Wednesday April 16 the Tidewater NCSU Club will be hosting the Spring Caravan stop for Virginia with guest Coach Tom O'Brien. The period to RSVP has been extended through this Friday:

A happy 2008 from RichmondWolfpack.com. It's been a while since we've updated the website so let's get things rolling.
First, basketball game watches are rolling along and we begin conference play Saturday, January 12 at Chapel Hill against rival UNC-CH. If you have not already done so please click the link on the right hand menu to sign up for our game watch email alerts.
Next, if you think you have to travel to NC to see the Wolfpack in action think again. Several events are taking place around the commonwealth including:
* Our men's wrestling will be at Liberty on January 12 at 2 p.m.
* Our men's wrestling will be at the University of Maryland on January 26 (College Park is a shorter drive than to Raleigh)
* Coach Yow and our women's basketball team will be at UVA on Friday, February 1
* Our men's and women's Track and Field with be at VT on Saturday, February 9
* Our men's tennis will be at ODU on Sunday, February 24
* Our men's basketball will be at UVA, also on Sunday, February 24
Also, Dereck Whittenburg and his Fordham Rams will be at the University of Richmond on March 5.
The Tidewater NCSU Club will be the host of this years Spring Caravan for Virginia. Details will be posted on the website when they become available.
It's also been a while since we've done an Alumni Profile. If you would like to nominate somebody to be profiled please email us. On a similar note, if anybody has any news they would like to share send that along as well.
We are looking forward to a great 2008 for the NCSU Club of Richmond. Upcoming events include our annual freshmen send-off as well as other alumni happenings.

ECU, UVA, Miami, Carolina....Next Up Wake Forest!
The Wolfpack is on a roll and it continues this Saturday against Wake Forest in Winston Salem. Following our successful joint game watch with the local Tarheels we're back to the Home Team Grill this Saturday. In addition we have received a commitment from Home Team Grill to offer every televised NCSU men's basketball game this season which starts tomorrow night against William and Mary. So it you aren't attending the games come on out and join your fellow area Wolfpackers as we cheer on Coach O'Brien and company.

The NCSU Club of Richmond and the UNC Alumni Club of Richmond are coming together this Saturday, November 10th for a joint game watch of the NCSU - UNC game at high noon. If you are not going down to Raleigh for this game and want to engage in some friendly "trash" talking with our UNC brethren this is your chance. The game watch is being held at the Black Finn at Riverside On The James (the new building between Riverfront Plaza and the James River). We will be having drink and food specials and door prizes. We are asking, though, if you are planning on coming to please send an email to the game watch email so that we can ensure we have a big enough space reserved. Just a reminder, this Thursday is the ACC Mixer hosted by our local Carolina friends down at the Black Finn from 6 to 8 PM. Please see the previous post for additional info. If you have any questions, shoot us an email.
Also, we have just discovered a great website and podcast that covers all things ACC. The website is accnation.com and is hosted by Patrick Hite and Jim Quist. They produce the radio show "ACC Nation" for several stations in the western part of Virginia as well as produce an excellent blog and podcast.

 The Richmond UNC alumni group is hosting an ACC-themed mixer next Thursday, September 20, from 6 to 8 PM at the Black Finn in downtown Richmond. I've never been but from what I've heard its pretty cool. So if you have any friends that went to one of those "other" ACC schools spread the word and invite them down.
