NCSU Baseball at UVA This Weekend

Just a reminder that UVA will be hosting the Wolfpack this weekend at Davenport Field in Charlottesville.  Game time's are Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 1pm, and Sunday at 1pm.  If you have never been to Davenport Field it is one of the most beautiful settings for baseball and is right across the street from the old U Hall (its is only a 55 minute drive from the Glenside exit on 64).

Thanks and GO PACK!!

ACC Basketball Opener Saturday, January 10 Against Clemson

First, the Wolfpack Club of Richmond wants to wish a speedy recovery to Coach Kay Yow in her new fight against cancer.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Yow and her family.

Next, a big thank you to everybody who came out to Home Team Grill last week for our PapaJohns.com Bowl game watch.  NCSU alum Hans Shearer and his staff were on top of things as usual and a great time was had by all.  While Richmonder Russell Wilson had to sit out the second half,  just the fact the Wolfpack made it to the post season provided a sense of accomplishment to the football season.  The beat down against the Tar Heels also helped out too!  As Hans pointed out, Home Team Grill is probably the only sports bar in the Richmond area with no UNC banners, flags, or decorations hanging on its walls.

Again, thanks to Matt and Tod for the game watch email alerts.  If you have not already done so, please click the link on the right side menu to get on the email list.

With the end of the 2008 football season comes the beginning of ACC basketball action and it starts this Saturday at noon as the Coach Lowe and the Wolfpack travel down to Littlejohn to take on the Clemson Tigers.  So come on out to the Fan location of Home Team Grill and enjoy a great afternoon with your fellow Richmond Wolfpackers.

Thanks, and GO PACK!!

NCSU Alumni Luncheon - New Volunteer Network Initiative
First, a big thank you to Matt Gross and Todd Padenich.  After running the game watch email list and alerts for the past few years Todd is retiring and passing this duty over to Matt Gross.  Thank you Todd for all your work and thank you Matt for stepping up to the plate.

We would like to thank Dr. Lenny Barton and Kristy Hendley from the Alumni Association and Jennifer Catalano from the College of Natural Resources for organizing our Alumni Luncheon last week here in Richmond.

We had an excellent turnout for this luncheon and many alums new to the NCSU Club of Richmond attended.  One of the main purposes of this luncheon was a presentation from Dr. Barton on a new initiative from the NCSU Alumni Association to build and strengthen its network of alumni volunteers.

There are 4 strategic objectives for this new initiative as described above.  If you are not already a member of the Alumni Association please consider joining and getting involved with your fellow Wolfpackers in the Richmond area.  If you have any questions about this new initiative or want more info about joining the Alumni Association please click the links on the right side menu.

Finally, the Wolfpack will be facing Rutgers in the PapaJohns.com bowl on Monday, December 29.  Look for an email about the bowl game watch and come on out to cheer on Richmonder Russell Wilson.  Also don't forget that our game watches will continue into basketball season.

Thanks, and GO PACK!!!
